A day that brings back all good, nostalgic memories for anyone to cherish, the National Tourism Day is celebrated to bring the beauty, diversity, and cultural richness of our incredible country to light.
Not just 36 different locations that offer an open lap of amazing views and ecstatic culture to experience, the country of Diversity, India has a fortunate connection of plains and mountains in all 4 zones. Whether it is the Himalayas connecting to Dehradun in North India or Anamudi (the highest peak in South India), located in Kerala, East Himalayas complementing Purvanchal or Sayhadri running parallel to Western India, there is so much to see and experience.
The theme for National Tourism Day 2026 is most likely covering Sustainability and Technology in Tourism. If not technology then what else can do better in a field like tourism since the efforts to increase tourism still needs streamlining different comforts and expectations all across the globe.
“Focused towards ‘Circular Economy and Sustainability’: the application of circular economy principles to reduce waste and promote sustainable practices in tourism.”
This could involve strategies like reducing plastic consumption, promoting reuse and recycling, and developing innovative solutions for waste management which is, at any time, a most concerning topic when it is about having more people visiting in cross-state or cross-country tourism.
While I had my fair share of experiences in my recent visits to Mathura, Vrindavan, and heard of my friends memories of Kedarnath, it made me realize how important it is to connect with your country and bring that word forward making it larger than life for others to be wanting of the same experiences.
I have been travelling with my toddler to some beautiful short stay places like Rajgarh in Himachal recently, which I will be sharing soon. So, for new parents travelling won’t be a puzzle to solve anymore.
